Muhammad listening to the Archangel Gabriel

12.  THE MESSIAH is “THE WORD OF GOD”

(John 1:1-14)

In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. (Apocalypse 19:13)

The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by Him,
and without Him was made nothing that was made.
In Him was life,
and the life was the Light of men; (John 8:12)

And the Light shines in darkness,
and the darkness did not comprehend it.
There was a man sent from God,
whose name was John. (the Baptist - see Luke 1:76-80)

This man came for a witness,
to testify concerning the Light,
that all might believe through Him.
He (John the Baptist) was not the Light,
but he was to testify concerning the Light. (John 8:12)
That was the true Light,
which enlightens every man
that comes into this world.
He (the Messiah) was in the world,
and the world was made by Him,
and the world knew Him not.

He (Christ) came unto His own,
and His own received Him not. (Matthew 13:57; John 4:44)

But as many as received Him to them,
He gave power to become sons of God,
to them that believe in His name,

who are born not of blood,
nor of the will of the flesh,
nor of the will of man,
but of God.
AND THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, (incarnated)
and dwelt among us:
(Luke 1:35; Apocalypse 19:13)
and we saw His glory,
the glory as of the Only Begotten of the Father, (1 John 4:9)
full of grace and truth. (See Article 20)
